Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Must have experience in multiple ICU units (Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, Trauma Surgery, etc.). ICU experience with adult populations is required. Must be willing to work with IMC/Progressive/General care populations as needed. Traveler must have experience in an academic Level 1 trauma center. Successfully completed travel assignments (13 weeks) are required. Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last three years. License: Traveler must have state nursing license or compact license from their permanent address state. Certifications: BLS and ACLS must be certified through American Heart Association only. Telemetry travelers must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass a telemetry test prior to being cleared to start. Must-Have: Traveler's permanent address must be within a specified distance from the assigned primary work site location. Travelers may be required to float to multiple units, depending on staffing needs. During the assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be reassigned to another unit. Travelers must be flexible regarding scheduling in various units. Orientation is typically around 20 hours. Description: Join a Magnet-certified hospital and Level 1 trauma center. Be part of a team that supports shared governance. Enjoy the autonomy and flexibility of working in various critical care settings, such as Trauma Life Center, Burn ICU, Neuro ICU, and Cardiac ICU. Orientation will be held every other week typically on a Monday. All travelers should follow their specified start dates and times as communicated in their welcome letters. Passing a telemetry exam will be required prior to starting. Strict passing criteria apply to the telemetry exam. Travelers will have two attempts to pass the exam. If the traveler fails the exam on the second attempt, they will need to complete a cardiac interpretation review course for a third attempt. Travelers must have an active telemetry competency on file per calendar year.
