Technician II (AN003)Veterinary Technician III
(AN004)Tasks:Prepares, completes, monitors, and documents technical
animal care procedures and work unit activities, assessments, and
medication administration according to established care plans and
medical necessityDevelops recordkeeping processes, maintains
organization of and updates records related to medical procedures
and billingTracks supply inventory levels and places replenishment
ordersServes as a point of contact for animal owners and
stakeholders providing information and answering questionsAssists
in the facilitation of trainings of Veterinary Technician
Assistants and helps student employees as neededMonitors animal
health status and records, provides nursing care, notifies
Veterinarian when status changes, and records in the medical
recordPlaces and maintains intravascular and urinary catheters.
Places and maintains NG/NE tubes.Assures patient comfort and
cleanliness.Assures quality patient care in the ICW.Assist CVTs in
ER/CCUBring a positive, helpful attitude to the unit and the
hospitalBe a team player, and work together with colleagues to best
meet patient needsFollow all hospital and UW campus policies and
proceduresGain knowledge on unit equipment and use. Assist with
unit equipment operation and regular maintenance. Advise supervisor
of equipment issues or repair needs, as needed.Participate in
rotating on-call shifts as required by the hospitalParticipate and
assist in the training and mentoring of less experienced staff and

levels 1, 2 and 3. Level is determined by qualifications based on
type of prior veterinary tech experience.To qualify for Level 1:
Entry level, new CVT grad or some CVT working experience with no
specialization.To qualify for Level 2: Generally over 2 years of
veterinary tech experience, may substitute years of experience for
specialization.To qualify for Level 3: Veterinary Tech Specialist
(VTS), or highly qualified and specialized in a specific area, may
have prior experience from another university
hospital.License/Certification:RequiredCVT - Certified Veterinary
TechnicianWork Schedule:Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm.Position may
include holiday and weekend shifts. Potential for additional
on-call hours as required by the hospital.Work Type:Full or Part
Time: 60% - 100%It is anticipated this position requires work be
performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work

$21.00 HOURLYDepending on QualificationsSign-on Bonus of 5% of base
pay (based on FTE) to be paid over the first year of employment!In
addition to your competitive base compensation:- earn an extra
$6.00/hour for weeknight shifts- $4.80/hour for weekend day shifts-
